The Lowry Building
This Award-winning art gallery in Manchester, dedicated to LS Lowry, has many of its fine works of art illuminated by fibre optic lighting.
In keeping with the general decor, this emits a pure white light, resulting in excellent colour rendering without any damaging heat at the light output or harmful UV rays. Careful placement of the lightheads has also avoided the problem of reflected glare.
The light fixtures themselves are necessarily set at very high levels within the vaulted ceiling, but maintenance is never an issue, the lightsources themselves being set within accessible service areas on either side.
