Kings Road
A fan-shaped "crown" of light adds drama to this modern commercial building - one of the earliest applications of exterior lighting using fibre optics following the development of the high-intensity HID light sources..
Without fibre optics, lighting at such high level would have been impracticable - but with light sources located internally, maintenance is quick and simple. The outputs themselves were also shrouded to prevent debris collecting on the lenses and distorting their performance.
